1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, downloading, or using any product, mobile app, web app, digital file, or resource provided by Fire Service Life (“we,” “our,” or “us”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and the End User License Agreement (collectively, “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use our Services.

2. Who We Are

Fire Service Life is owned and operated by Paul Brewer, a U.S. firefighter and captain. We provide educational resources, books, and firefighter-focused software designed to help users grow in leadership, organization, and preparedness.

3. Scope of Services

Our Services include:

• The website fireservicelife.com and its subdomains;

• Mobile and web applications such as FD Shift Trade Log, FD Pocket Guides, FD Probie Log, My 1st Due, and Habit Chains;

• Digital downloads, Notion templates, PDFs, and books;

• Any related content, communications, or materials.

4. License Grant

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install, access, and use our apps and materials solely for personal or internal fire-service use, subject to these Terms.
You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify any part of the software;

• Resell, sublicense, or distribute our content without written permission;

• Use our apps for unlawful purposes or in ways that damage functionality or reputation.

5. Intellectual Property

All software, text, graphics, design, trademarks, and content remain the property of Fire Service Life or its licensors.
Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

6. Payments and Pricing

Some Services are free; others require a one-time purchase or license fee (e.g., $1.99 – $9.99 apps or $47 digital templates).
All prices are listed in USD and may change without notice. Payments are processed securely through trusted third-party platforms (such as Apple App Store, Notion, or PayPal).

7. No Data Collection / Privacy

We do not collect, store, or sell personal data beyond what users voluntarily provide (e.g., email for support).
Local data stored within our apps remains on your device and under your control.

8. User Responsibilities

You agree to use our Services lawfully, maintain the confidentiality of your device and account information, and comply with fire-department or employer policies when applicable.
You are responsible for any data entered, stored, or exported from your device.

9. Disclaimers

All information, guides, and apps are provided “as is” and for informational or educational purposes only.
We do not guarantee accuracy for department-specific policies, nor do our products replace official training, procedures, or command guidance.
Use of our tools does not constitute professional certification or endorsement by any fire department or governmental agency.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fire Service Life and Paul Brewer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use or inability to use our Services, including loss of data, revenue, or operational downtime.
Your exclusive remedy for dissatisfaction is to discontinue use of the Services.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to any Service at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms or misuse our intellectual property.

12. Updates and Modifications

We may update our software, resources, or these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on our website with a new “Last Updated” date. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Third-Party Links and Integrations

Some products may link to or integrate with third-party services (e.g., Notion, Apple App Store). We are not responsible for the content, security, or policies of those services. Review their terms separately before use.

14. Refunds

All digital purchases are non-refundable once delivered, except as required by the respective app-store or payment-processor policies.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fire Service Life, its owner, affiliates, and contributors from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your use of the Services or violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be handled in California state or federal courts.

17. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Fire Service Life regarding your use of our Services, superseding any prior oral or written communications.
